What to Expect: Getting Started at Glass Harbor Psychology & Consulting
We’re glad you’re here! Beginning therapy is an important step, and we want you to feel supported and informed throughout the process. Here’s what you can expect when starting with Glass Harbor:
-
Phone Inquiry
When you first reach out to us, one of our team members will talk with you briefly about your needs, answer your questions, and help connect you with the right clinician.
-
Scheduling Your Appointment
We’ll work with you to find an appointment time that fits your schedule. During this call, we’ll also set up your access to the secure client portal and ask that you complete the intake paperwork right away, ideally while we are still on the phone. If that’s not possible, you’ll receive the forms immediately after scheduling and must complete them before your intake session. If paperwork is not completed prior to intake, time will be taken at the start of the appointment for you to complete it before therapy can begin. Please note: repeated cancellations, no-shows, or failure to complete paperwork may impact our ability to see you, may result in fees, and/or we may refer you to another provider.
-
Before Your First Session
Completing your forms in advance allows your clinician to get to know you and ensures that your time together is focused on your needs.
-
Communication & Reminders
You’ll receive a reminder before your appointment. If you have questions, just reach out via phone (843-608-0058) or email (glassharborpsychology@gmail.com). We aim to respond within one business day. If you need to reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
-
Your First Session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know you. Your clinician will listen, ask questions about your goals, and explain how therapy works. Together, you’ll begin creating a plan that’s right for you.
